Repairing alignment faults in digital panoramics

Sometimes when shooting digital panoramics you come across issues that only become evident when you are back in front of your computer and there is no way to go back and re shoot the scene. One of these issues is when you images are not straight due to your tripod set up not being level.

In this tutorial we look at the method of correcting a series of images that made up a panoramic stitch that was a lost cause and how we brought them back to make a print quality panoramic. We discuss the cause and solution to these problems and also how a correct capture work flow allowed the images to be processed to give the final result.
